It's time, America, to put our nation back into the black on our budget and reduce the national debt before it's too late. Here's what I propose:
    Restrictions on spending - revenue streams tied to spending. 
    Taxes based primarily on spending
    No unfunded mandates
    End bailouts for the rich
    Set aside funds for emergencies

It's time to stress the basics. So many of our new graduates cannot read well, cannot write well, can't spell, can't do basic math and don't know anything about the world they live in. And these are the ones with advanced degrees! Our high school graduates are in even worse condition.
I propose:

    A national emphasis on learning as a lifetime model
    Much greater emphasis on reading and writing
    Citizenship training
    

    A strong defense without rushing into war.
    Be ready for natural disasters & emergency assistance 
    Build up friends and allies without meddling in regional politics
